Topic: EXTERIORS

Q. How much will it cost to repaint my exterior?
A. The average price range is $1500 - $2000.

Q. How often should I have to repaint my exterior?
A. Every 5-10 years depending on your house's exterior.
Longest lasting surface -- Aluminum siding or stucco
Shortest lasting surface -- Plywood (T-111) siding

Q. When they sold me aluminum siding they said I'd never have to repaint it, what gives?
A. They lied. The paint on aluminum siding will last a long time, but eventually it will fail and have to be redone.

Q. I paid $10,000 for vinyl siding that will never have to be repainted, so sayonara Mr. Painter man.
A. Tastes in colors change. Most colors popular 20-30 years ago look dated now. Since most vinyl siding can't be painted, do you really want to lock yourself into a color that can only be changed by replacing the siding?
